Art D!rect!on

In recent years it has not been highly publicized in comparison to the hype of the 1980s which saw the likes of the 'crews' causing havoc at football matches. However by referencing online sources it definitely still is happening within the UK and abroad. My initial thought and art direction have concentrated on how i can communicate the relationship between the hooligan and the police figure.

To do this i came up with the thought of considering how swear words are cited within text. The first idea was to manipulate symbols to become more aggressive. Below is a couple of examples.




Below was part of an experiment in replacing symbols within text. It tests legibility but it gives the body copy the aggressive character it needs.









In these images the overpowering block letters have dominated the reserved piece of text. The inspiration was from one of the images below. The body copy could have its kerning increased to add to this.
